Slide to the Left.

It was my Birthday yesterday, one of my favourite times of year – of course!

I was spoilt rotten, you’re never too old for cards, presents and Facebook messages. I’m normally fairly particular about gifts, I personally like to try and buy people something they really want, so when it comes to presents for me I quite like having a little list at the ready, should anyone happen to ask if there is anything I’m lusting after.

As it goes, this year I was desperate to get my hands, or should I say feet, into a pair of sliders. They’ve been the must-have footwear for the summer, women everywhere have been going crazy for them, as usual the boys don’t really get them, but does footwear get any better? They’re flat, easy on, easy off and come in an array of colours, shapes and embellished details.

Luckily for me someone was listening intently and surprised me with these beauties from Sandro…I’m in love!

The first pair I tried on were in my high street fav, Zara, back way before we’d even seen that hot yellow ball in the sky. They were beautiful in white with black and gold detailing, really clean and simple, as well as being a complete Celine rip off at only a fraction of the price. Needless to say these sold out faster than you can imagine, with fashionistas everywhere tracking them down where they could, even if it meant a spot of shopping whilst on holiday, if you were lucky enough to be going somewhere there was a Zara. I still regret putting these back on the shelf…can you tell?!

The next high street hotties come from Dune, they are a gorgeous pair of padded black leather, cross-over sliders, perfect city break footwear and also identical to the chicest French pair from Isabel Marant – I know you guys get my love affair here. And at £49, also available in nude, how could you not have a pair in each colour? Well you snooze, you lose and these sold out and made it onto EBay in the blink of an eye! Dune have actually released a second hit of the gorgeous Jolene sandal, if you’re quick you might be able to track a pair down. See if you can spot the difference below, Dune at the top and Isabel Marant below.

Cool as a Kimono 👘

Waking up to a day as wet as this one makes me think about the incredible sunshine we had last Friday, and the fact I was being able to enjoy what was the hottest day of the 2014 so far, whilst being with a group of my best friends at London’s Wireless festival.

Festivals are great aren’t they? Full of good music, (although Kanye was as bad as you probably read in the papers), lots of food, drink and if you’re lucky loads of porter loos! It’s also a great place to scout out other peoples festival wardrobes.

Obviously with Wireless being so hot last week there was naked flesh galore on show, I’ve seen enough side boob and butt cheek action to last me a lifetime, with the vast majority of it not on the nicest of bodies!! But, one item of clothing that many a festival-goer was rocking, myself included, was the kimono.

From floor sweeping to sleeveless and tassels, in florals, monochrome or lace they come in all colours, shapes and sizes, and it’s got to be the summer holiday wardrobe must-have.

If you’ve not already purchased then now is the time, with summer sales in full swing you can definitely bag a bargain or two.

This item is perfect as your bikini beach cover-up, but stick it on with a pair of shorts to take to straight to the bar. Even when you get back from hols it’ll look great teamed with jeans and a cami. I also think they’re a great piece regardless of age. Many older ladies worry about the tops of their arms, but the kimono has it covered whilst still looking elegant and stylish.

Boohoo.com and New Look have a huge range and both retailers are really well priced. Here’s my favourites from the high street and online right now.
