Yes, it’s that time of year again, and no I’m not talking about the mad run up to Christmas! On planet fashion it’s time for a sneak preview of the hotly anticipated Spring/Summer collections, showcased at press day events and parties.
It’s a really exciting time when all the major publications, stylists and bloggers get to preview what the fashion brands will be offering up for next season, everything from clothes, shoes, accessories and more is on show. I love it when the press day invites come out, it’s also interesting to see who’s found the hottest new venues and what other enticing things are planned for you once attending….like a gorgeous manicure.
Next is one of the our biggest high street brands, it’s almost a one-stop-shop with men’s, women’s, kids, footwear, accessories and homeware available…phew! They always put on a great press day, at a fab central London location, and it’s great to catch up with all their teams.
The SS16 press day was just as expected, at the beautiful Victoria House in Bloomsbury, on a grey, wet London morning, it was extremely inviting stepping into the beautiful reception swamped in vivid bright blue carpets and lighting. The team is always super friendly with a warm welcome. Off I head down the stairs and the first thing I see are three beautiful boho style mannequins, the colour palette is earthy and the pieces simple, but with fantastic details and cool accessories. I can already see Spring/Summer is going to be strong for Next.
I love they way the teams at Next style their press events, all areas of the brand are seamlessly mixed together, but it’s still very clear where one department ends and the next one begins.
Sports Luxe is one of my favourite and regular go to styles, so of course I was excited to see some sleek side stripe joggers, a drawstring jumpsuit and mesh details bombers. I’m so impressed with how high end these pieces look.
And as for the accessories, don’t get me started! I’ve been on a never-ending search for the perfect snakeskin ankle boots, and where do I find them? You guessed it, only have to wait another 4 months!!
I also learnt something new about Next, they offer a great flower delivery service. I had a chat with one of the girls who took me through their offerings which ranges from £20-£40. It’s definitely a service I’ll be making use of in the future.
Anyway, enough of my chatter, have a sneak peak for yourself – roll on summer!
